Overview
An electric iron with a detachable cord. a wooden handle which is painted a blue green colour. Below the handle at the front of the iron is a small metal pad to place your thumb. At the back of the iron is a plug which the cord slots into.
Historical information
It is a heavy iron although typical of irons in that period.

Inscriptions and markings
Behind the electric plug on the top of the iron is a metal plate etched with "COMET", underneath this is "240 V Ser No. P.S. 34 575 W:"
On both sides of the plug which is plugged into a wall socket is "7 1/2 AMP 250 V".
