HIVE LID
c. 1900Rectangular timber and tin lid from a beehive.
2 sheets of tin are white painted and folded over a timber frame and nailed (nails painted too).
The timber side is roughly painted white and shows traces of wax honeycomb.
Ends were bought ready cut and covered with tin from petrol tins.
Associated with the Cook family, who had established an apiary at Coondle in the Toodyay district by 1902.
