LETTER - NEW BANK ACCOUNTING SYSTEM

Overview

White rectangle paper with black printed text. Letter head across the top. Left side of letter head is a crest with a shield that is flanked by a emu on the left and a black swan on the right. A Kangaroo sits onto of the shield. Under the shield is a banner with Latin text [SIC FORTIS ETORIA CREVIT]. On the shield are three layers, top layer is a ship flanked two sheaves of wheat, second later are a cow and a sheet, final layer at pointed end of the shield is a crossed shovel and pick. The right wide of the letter head is text with the top line is a printed stylised copper plate.
The letter is addressed to the Mundijong and District Caledonian Society and is signed by the manager of the Armadale branch of the Bank of New South Wales
The letter details changes to the Bank of New South Wales' accounting system.

Historical information

The Bank of NSW arrived in the district in the late 1920s and community organisations including the Armadale Kelmscott Roads Board opened accounts with them. One of the banks clients was the Mundijong and Districts Caledonian Society.
