BLACKWORK, PICTURE
Blackwork picture of Jane Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII, was stitched in late 1970s by one of the earliest Guild members, Jess Howe, who was later awarded Life Membership for her tireless work and support of the Guild.
Design taken from ‘New Stitches’ English magazine, Issue nine, Costume Series, pages 33/34.
Embroidery mounted on board covered with black cotton fabric.
