He is sitting in a partly seen wicker chair with a cloth drape behind.
He has a small beard, and a large moustache.

Historical information

Joseph Ablett Wroth was born at ‘Mill Farm’, Toodyay and died in Toodyay, WA. He is buried in Toodyay Public Cemetery.
He was the son of John Acton Wroth (1831-1876), and brother of Arthur John Wroth (1855-1935) and William Augustus Wroth (1857-1943).
Joseph filled the position of Toodyay Road Board Secretary for 44 years, and also served, often simultaneously, as the Newcastle Town Clerk and briefly as Mayor.
He was a member of the Anglican Vestry and the Toodyay Masonic Lodge.
