MUSEUM OF THE YEAR AWARD PRESENTATION, NEWCASTLE GAOL 1983

This award is housed on the wall of the courtroom in the Newcastle Gaol.
An education program based on "experiential learning in a museum" was introduced to the Newcastle Gaol Museum in 1983.
A courtroom was set up in an exhibition room, and a recording of a trial was played to visitors. This recreation remained in place for more than 25 years.
