Northern Territory Baseball Australia pennant - 1984/85 season

Overview

A Northern Territory Baseball Australia black plastic pennant. Orange synthetic fabric is stitched to the sides of the pennant and forms a hanger at the top. Orange synthetic tasselled braid is stitched to the bottom V-shaped edge. Printed in white on the pennant is the insignia of the Northern Territory Baseball League consisting of the crossed letters 'N' and 'T'. The stylised letter 'T' is topped with buffalo horns. Below the insignia in white lettering is 'Baseball Australia'.

Historical information

The Northern Territory Baseball League was formed in 1968. Its name has changed to Baseball NT and it is the governing body of baseball within the Northern Territory, Australia. Baseball NT is governed nationally by the Australian Baseball Federation. In performing those functions the Australian Baseball Federation uses the descriptor 'Baseball Australia'.

In 1981 the Northern Territory Baseball League joined the Australian national Claxton Shield competition for the first time. This pennant is from the 1984/85 Claxton Shield Series.
