Overview

The tray cloth, purchased in Madagascar in 2025, depicts the extinct Dodo bird, which was unique to Mauritius, an island nation west of Madagascar off the southeast coast of Africa.

Colourfully hand embroidered, the tray cloth has the dodo bird in each corner and Mauritian figures.

The leaf shaped scalloped edge, is embroidered. In the centre are bands of cutwork embroidery.
