Overview

The base is circular with two protruding ears on which is mounted hemispherical bells.

A clapper projects down from the operating mechanism housed on the circular body and protected by a white bowl type cover, which has text on it, relating to the donor.

Historical information

An extension bell made by the Post Master General's Department (P.M.G.) used at the Stocker residence by Max Stocker (Sen). Installed in 1937 and functional up to 1997.

The Post Master General's Department was created in 1901 to manage the mail and telecommunications services in the country. Later it would be split into Australian Telecommunications Commission (which in time would become Telstra) and Australian Postal Commission (trading as Australia Post).
