Historical information

Information added later by Christobel Bennett: The original plans dated September 1908 for the proposed residence for Mrs Ball at 129 Coghlan Road, Subiaco [see acc.no.96.39] do not show the iron lace on the balconies, but a simple wooden balustrade. Metters Foundry did not operate from the Subiaco factory until 1911, but were in business at West Perth before that date. The iron lace on this residence may have come from one of Metters' eastern states foundries.
