PHOTOGRAPH: INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS AT CRAWLEY BAY, C. 1865
c. 1865The black and white copy of a 'c1865' ? photo shows a group of local Noongar Indigenous Australians seated and standing near five bush huts/mia-mias thought to be in the Crawley area, with some spindly tall trees in the background. There are 15-20 people, wearing mostly kangaroo skin capes with some assorted pieces of European clothing or blankets. In the background is what is thought to be a European sitting on a horse - there is some blurring in this section. A pointed white post (part of a fence?) is in the front foreground.
