Historical information

The Sunday Times Blanket Appeal Train, carrying over 800 passengers, came to Toodyay for a three-hour visit.
One of the biggest passenger trains ever to stop at Toodyay, the crowd enjoyed a picnic lunch, and enjoyed various town attractions, such as part of a new display on the life and exploits of Toodyay’s bushranger Moondyne Joe, at Connor’s Mill.
The illustrated panels prepared by Scott Properjohn had been completed, to be later followed by three-dimensional dioramas of Toodyay and a re-construction of Joe’s cell in Fremantle Prison.
