1906 - 1909A small sepia photograph of the wooden and metal shield of the Eastern Districts Football Associaton.
Photo shows a label attached to the bottom of the shield with wording. "Presented by A Myers Esq. JP Mayor and Messrs E.J. and A.J. Myers, Freemasons Hotel, Newcastle to Eastern Districts Football Association. Designed and manufactured by G.D.Upjohn, 165 William Street Perth."
The shield itself has a metal plaque with similar information.
The shield has eight metal shield shapes for the winner's names (all blank).
Central shield has the figure of a football player.
Abraham Myers was the Mayor of Newcastle Nov. 1906 to Nov. 1909, and lessee of the Freemasons' Hotel. His nephew E.J. Myers was the licensee of the Freemasons' Hotel.

On back of photo in blue ink: "Donated by Mrs E.M. Myers (nee Elsie Ferguson); Shield for Eastern District Football, donated by the Freemasons hotel, Newcastle (Toodyay)"; in pencil, "Note Davies [ie Davey] owed pub also."
