J W Langsford was born in South Australia in 1865. Justice of the Peace, Claremont. Married to Agnes Jane Langsford. Four sons (may be more). Holberry Joseph, Arthur Norwood, Claude Nerwington, & Eckersley W. Claremont Mayor from 1899-1901. Member of the Legislative Council from 1904-1911. He died in 1957. Former Notre Dame Street was renamed Langsford Street in 1908 for his service to the local community. Photo taken at end of tennis court.
