Overview

Hand-tinted head and shoulders portrait of Ruth Efford in a patterned frock with a vee neck caught with a white cameo brooch. She is very clear-skinned and has dark eyes and frizzy dark hair swept back from her forehead. Handwritten on the rear of the postcard [Charles Efford/ & Ruth Jane Efford/ nee Porter/ Father + Mother of Ivy, Sam/ and Mabel].

Historical information

Ruth Jane Porter married Charles John Efford in 1900 and had children William Charles Samuel 'Sam' (1903), Mabel Bernice (1908) and Ruth Ivy Margaret Frances (1901).

Lived at 30 Shenton Road, Claremont until her death from Parkison's disease in 1966.
