B/W Print. Charles Efford with his wife Ruth and children Ivy, Sam and baby Mabel taken in front of light straggly trees. Charles, standing in dappled shade at the back is in a dark suit, light waistcoat, white shirt and dark bow tie. Ruth in dark skirt with large buttons down the front and long-sleeved white blouse and bonnet is sitting in front of him with the baby, Mabel, on her knee. Mabel is in a white frock with a white bow in her hair and slippers with an ankle strap and pom pom. Ivy, standing with her hand on her mother's shoulder, is in a dark, high-necked, long-sleeved frock with a wide square-necked lace collar. She has long dark socks and shoes and a bow in her hair. Sam, standing the other side of his mother, has a light waistcoat buttoned high to the neck and a short, long sleeved jacket. Historical information

Charles John Efford was born in the Roundhouse, Fremantle, Western Australia. And was baptised at the Fremantle Church of England on 10 Nov. 1894. A devout man. Efford was a postmaster at Norseman, Widgiemooltha, Ravensthorpe, Katanning, Hopetoun, Tambellup, Coolgardie. He was also a dedicated violinist.

Efford married Ruth Jane Porter with whom he had three children: William Charles Samuel 'Sam' (1903), Mabel Bernice (1908) and Ruth Ivy Margaret Frances (1901). Retired to their home at 30 Shenton Road, Claremont.
