Overview

The photograph features the men of the Subiaco Municipal Band, C Grade Champions, Interstate Band Contest, 1931. The men are arranged in three rows and all wear uniform, except M.S. Dye and R.L. Newman (Secretary and President respectively), who are seated on either side of Harold Partington, Conductor, in the centre of the front row. The men hold their various brass instruments and the drums are stacked in front of the conductor. A small cup rests on a box on the left side of the drums and a trumpet is displayed in its case resting on a stool to the right. On the mount at the top of the photograph are the words: 'Subiaco Municipal Band - C Grade Champions, Interstate Band Contest, 1931. The Band members' names are printed below the photograph on the mount, however because the corners have broken away not all names can be seen.
