PHOTOGRAPH: METTERS' WORKERS ENAMELLING BATHS

1965
Overview

Black and white photograph showing two Metters' workers in masks applying enamel powder through long-handled sieves to a bath that is lying on a table tilted almost vertically upright. Enamel powder is heaped under the adjustable cradle and over the grate next to it. Another bath is resting on a trolley in the background and a third is placed on its side in front. There is a huge hood overhead and the furnace door is faintly visible at the centre in the background. The enamelling works of Metters started operations in 1965.
