c. 1950The photograph shows a Metters' foundry worker at the wheel of metal receiver. The molten metal runs into the receiver from a cupola. The wheel lifts and tilts the receiver to enable the metal to be poured into a large ladle. The worker is wearing a hat and also dark glasses possibly to protect his eyes.
