Western Australian Institute of Sport baseball uniform top

Overview

A light-grey, polyester, sleeveless baseball uniform top, with light-grey buttons down the full length of the front panel. The individual letters W A I S, in green fabric, have been appliqued with white thread across the chest area of the shirt. On the back of the shirt the number 6, in green fabric, has been appliqued with white thread.

Historical information

The Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) is an elite sports institute set up in 1983 by the Government of Western Australia to support athletes in Western Australia. They provide specialist resources to enhance the performance capability of athletes and support sport pathways which have the capability of producing sustainable results.

This circa 1996/97 WAIS baseball top was worn by Andrew Kyle, a Western Australian championship player and State and national coach.
