Overview

Two Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) 1989 Winter Champions baseball medallions. The obverse of the gold-coloured metal medallions has the embossed image of a baseball player swinging a bat. The reverse of the medallions has an oakleaf border with a raised central square engraved with the initials of the sports institute, the date and the name of the award. The name of the manufacturer of the medallions is in the bottom right-hand corner.

WAIS is the Western Australian Institute of Sport, an elite sports institute set up in 1983 by the Government of Western Australia to support athletes in Western Australia.
