Overview

Rectangular box, longer than tall and narrower. It has a carry strap on the top surface and the front segment which has a single lens aperture and two view finder holes top left. It has one view finder to right corner and another on the longer left side above the shutter release. To the rear of this is the film winder and just above is a metal tag to retain the two sections. There is another tag on left of the top section.

On the back and near the top right is a round window to view the film number. In the middle of the back section is embossed in concentric circles is the maker's mark and film to be used.

Historical information

Originally made by the Boston Camera Company in the 1880s the Hawkeye camera became a part of Eastman Kodak in 1899. The Hawkeye No2 box cameras was a popular camera design that was first manufactured in 1913 and after a number of variations was discontinued in c1930.
