Overview

Vertically slim rectangular shape, anodised finish around centre case, both upper side sections are black plastic where the lower section in fake wood grain panels.

The right upper panel is locked closed and when opened accepts the pre-loaded film cassette and also has a meter inbuilt near the front edge. The left side has a ridge midway in line with the lens assembly on the front of the case which is the viewfinder. Below this and to the front is the film lock and run mechanism.

Attached to the underside of the case is a fold out pistol grip, released by depressing a button near the case end. The end cap is removed and houses the 4 AA batteries to power the film feed.

There is a detachable site loop fitted to the top of the case at the front.

Historical information

Bell & Howell was founded in 1907 in wheeling, Illinois and manufactured projectors and motion-picture film cameras. In the 2000's the company moved out of the projector and camera business. In 1968 they started producing the Autoload 308 camera that used Super Eight film. It was manufactured in Japan.
