Rectangular; cardboard cover marbled light brown, black and white; with light brown spine. Endpapers light blue/grey. White paper label stuck to front cover with handwritten title ‘Note Book, No. 6. Supreme Court-Civil Sittings. / Court for Divorce & Matrimonial Causes./ 7th Septr. 1870 - 12th July 1871.’ Blue/grey lined pages filled with Chief Justice Archibald Paull Burt's notes, handwritten in black ink.

Index of case names by page order on first two and a half pages, alphabetical index of cases second half of page two and also third page, both handwritten in black ink. 96 pages hand numbered in black ink.
