Notebook 7 of group of 13 containing Chief Justice Burt's handwritten notes during Supreme Court Civil trials.

Rectangular; cardboard cover marbled light brown, black and white; with brown spine and corners. White paper label stuck to front cover with handwritten title ‘No 7. Note Book, No. 7. / Supreme Court./ Civil Sittings/ Court for Divorce & Mat. Causes. / 12th July 1871 – 9th Apr. 73.’ Label on spine reads 'No. 7.'

Endpapers also marbled, black binding tape with white thread. Rectangular maker's label inside front cover 'WATERLOW & SONS, / LONDON,/ ACCOUNT BOOK/ MANUFACTURERS/ TO HER MAJESTY'S GOVERNMENT. Blue/grey lined pages filled with Chief Justice Archibald Paull Burt's notes, handwritten in black ink.

Index of case names by page order on first two and a half pages, alphabetical index of cases last two pages of notebook, both handwritten in black ink. Pages hand numbered in black ink up to the start of the last case, 131 pages, however notebook has a total of 153 pages that have been filled with case notes by Chief Justice Burt.
