'Lest we forget ANZAC' tie or lapel pin
c. 1915 - 1919World War One era 'Lest we forget ANZAC' tie or lapel pin featuring a circular metal disc attached to a gold-toned decorative horizontal bar.
The coin-like disc bears a central depiction of the Rising Sun badge with the words 'Australia New Zealand Army Corps' on the scroll underneath.
The phrase 'Lest we forget' appears above the badge and 'ANZAC' below, both following the curve of the outer circumference.
The reverse of the bar is hollow and has raised sections at either end where the pin clasp is attached. The words 'PAT. APL'D FOR" are impressed in the centre of the bar. There are no other maker's marks.
This item may have been worn by a man as a tie pin or a woman as a lapel or sweetheart brooch. It is believed to date to the World War One period.
