MEMORIAL HONOUR BOARD: SUBIACO METHODIST CIRCUIT HONOUR ROLL

Overview

Wooden honour board in the shape of a clasical architecture façade with a central face, two columns etither side and a triangular pediment on top.

The honour board is made from polished timber with a warm, reddish-brown colour. The top section is a painted design showing crossed flags, green leaves, and a ribbon with the words HONOUR ROLL.

Beneath this, a long horizontal strip of wood carries the painted phrase 'For God, For King, For Country' in gold lettering.

The main front panel is a flat wooden surface filled with neatly arranged gold text. The names are organised in three vertical columns, separated by thin painted lines. At the top of the list of names reads 'Men of the Subiaco Methodist Circuit, who at their country`s call, have given themselves to service, in the Great War, August 1914.

The entire structure rests on a stepped base moulding, giving the appearance of a small architectural monument. The timber surface is polished, showing a warm reddish-brown tone with visible grain, and the inscriptions and decorative elements are applied in gilt and coloured paint.
