Overview

Vertical cream postcard with decorative embossing, two layers of card that are coming apart at the bottom left corner. There is a minature book in the bottom centre, which reads '1912' diagonally across the cover. The book contains a calender, each month has its own page that lists the dates and days of the week in blue ink. There is an embossed dove above the calendar and seven embossed pink roses surrounding the lettering (two of which are on the book cover). The background has decorative debossing in a cross hatched pattern and an organic border.

Postcard was sent from Lillian Dennis to her husband Jim Dennis. A handwritten message on the reverse reads: 'To My Dear Husband / Wishing you a merry christmas / & A Happy New Year from / your affectionate wife / All well, Lillian'

Along the top long edge, the words 'POST' and 'CARD' are printed either side of a Beagles company logo. The word 'Best' is printed diagonally across a globe with the words 'BEAGLES' curved above and 'POST CARDS' below. 'J Beagles & Co., Ltd & C Printers & Publishers. Printed in Germany' is printed along the left short side.
