TOOL,SEWING BOX
An example of a lady's workbox from the late 19th or early 20th century, this large wooden box has a hinged lid. The exterior of the box is decorated with a geometric design of decoupage. An inner tray is divided into ten sections, two with decorated lids and a variety of ivory tools including thread spools, awl and bone needles in separate compartments, some with decorated tops.
In the lower part a writing drawer with decorative lid and two side sections for writing implements and small metal seal, and two ribs from an ivory fan.
