Plaited Grass Frog
1942Overhead view of frog woven from Guildford Grass. Actual size. Three double strands of grass bent and woven to form body and then plaited to form back legs. Another 3 double strands woven across body and plaited to form front legs. Ends of plaits released to form feet.
The frog was woven by a member of the Chinese Labour Corps on a Claremont to Perth train and given to Ethel Lucas on arrival at Perth. c.1942.
