At Pioneer World in the 1980s visitors had the option to post a letter which would be stamped with an official Australia Post postmark that recorded that the letter was posted at Pioneer World. This letter was posted on Australia day (January 26) 1984.

Australian postage stamp with a special Pioneer World postmark. The letter that the stamp and post mark are from was posted on Australia Day (26 January) 1984. The stamp and postmark were purchased by Colin Hislop, a stamp collector at an auction.
The postmark represents a marketing tool used by Pioneer World to encourage visitors to post material from their post office. It is part of a small collection of items in the museum that represent a major tourism operation in the district that was regarded as premier state tourism venture.
