Overview

A fine example of stumpwork, a technique revived in early 2000s by N.S.W tutor, Jane Nicholas who wrote several books on the topic. Jane’s pieces usually had flowers and creatures.
In this piece, a dragonfly with beaded body and head and transparent wings, a red poppy and 2 cornflowers + bud.
is the third in a series of three (3) donated, each at a level of increasing difficulty. Others are:
2018.46, a bee with small transparent wings and one flower, a rose,
2018.47, a butterfly with thistle and acorns.
2004.37 Jane Nicholas donated a paper weight that she had stitched. Rose and bee.
