1985 Western Australian Claxton Shield baseball champions
A colour photograph of the 1985 Western Australian Brewers baseball team that won the 1984/85 Australian Claxton Shield Championship held in Melbourne, Victoria. The photo is slotted into a dark-brown cardboard photo frame, which has two gold-coloured, rectangular internal borders. Gold-coloured lettering at the top of the frame identifies the year and the competition, and at the bottom of the frame the name of the champion team.
The 1985 Claxton Shield Series was the 46th annual Claxton Shield Championships, an Australian national baseball tournament. The three-game final series of the 1984/85 championships was played in January 1985 in Melbourne between Victoria and Western Australia, with Western Australia winning its sixth championship.

The photograph was taken at Parry Field in Perth. The perpetual Claxton Shield trophy is in the photograph as well as the trophy awarded to the Brewers on winning the championship.
This photo was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by 1985 Brewers team member Parris Mitchell.
This photograph records an historic moment in Western Australia's baseball history when the Brewers won the Claxton Shield Championship in 1985; the State's sixth Claxton Shield win.
