Overview

The 1999/2000 Claxton Shield Champions Trophy is vase-shaped, clear cut-glass with the name of the champion team etched into the glass. The trophy stands on a square wooden plinth which bears a black metal plaque.
Two baseball bats and a ball are engraved on the metal plaque above the WoolMark logo and the name of the baseball series.

Historical information

The International Baseball League of Australia was a baseball league which existed from 1999 to 2002. The league was created by David Nilsson after he purchased the rights to the Australian Baseball League in 1999.

The 1999–2000 International Baseball League of Australia season was conducted as a National League with a team based in each of the major Australian mainland cities and a second team based in Country New South Wales.

Western Heelers, the team from Western Australia, defeated the Queensland Rams 2 games to 1 in the Championship series held at Palm Meadows, an Australian baseball field located on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
