A 1952 Claxton Shield baseball cap - New South Wales team - made of woollen fabric with a light-blue crown and a dark blue, felt-covered brim and top button. The internal head band is made of dark brown leather. It has many holes in the fabric as a result of insect damage.

The 1952 Claxton Shield was the 13th annual Claxton Shield, an Australian national baseball tournament. It was held in Perth, Western Australia. The participants were South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. It was the year the host team Western Australia won their first Claxton Shield Championship. South Australia were the runners-up, Victoria 3rd and New South Wales 4th.
