Mother of pearl A.I.F. sweetheart brooch in shape of Australia with attached safety pin
c. 1940World War Two era sweetheart brooch fashioned from Mother of Pearl with the outline of Australia depicting state and territory lines.
The initials ‘AIF’ and the word 'Mother' appear on an angle in gilt wire across the centre of the brooch.
The reverse has a pin clasp for attachment and a safety pin with a metal chain to prevent loss..
There are many items in the collection that have been made by or for service men and women whilst on active service.
