PLAQUE APEX TO CAM CLAY

Overview

Wooden, brown varnished 6-sided plaque with plastic Apex logo stuck to front at top and dark-coloured rectangle engraved with text near the bottom.
The Apex logo is a round disc with laurel border. In the middle is a triangle with sun rays coming from base and the text: [APEX].
The engraved text on the dark-coloured rectangle reads: [Presented to / Cam Clay / For Service to APEX / by the / Armadale Kelmscott Apex Club / 1981].
At the back of the plaque is a small, gold, square sticker with a black logo above black text, which reads: [DI TROPHIES / 734-7000 / SYDNEY].

Historical information

Plaque was presented to Cam Clay in 1981 for his service to the Armadale Kelmscott Apex Club, which he helped found in 1969. He left the club in 1981, aged 40, as per the rules of the Apex club. Cam through the Apex club gave many hours of community service to the local community. He was also a member of a number of environmental groups tasked with saving local environments as well as other community groups, such as the Bedfordale Volunteer Fire brigade. Cam and Fay lived in the area from 1969-1973 before leaving briefly and then moving to Bedfordale in 1979 where they lived until 2013. Cam Clay passed away in 2013.
