Image is from the Rutherford Album which is housed at the archives of the Rottnest Island Heritage Authority at Kingstown Barracks, Rottnest Island. The photographer was William Dennis Dawson, a professional photographer in Midland Junction. The image is dated between 1901 and 1902.

P100-21. Upper Swan Bridge, Upper Swan. Nolan's Cottage features in the background. The bridge was replaced after it was washed away in the 1926 floods. The caption for the image identifies the location as Middle Swan but today it is known as Upper Swan.
