Historical information

Cyril Augustus Frank was born in Fremantle in July 1903. He married Kathleen Louisa (Louie) McInerney in August 1928 at St. Mary's Church in Leederville. Children: Mary Sheila (1929), John Raymond (1931, born at Nurse Jones's Private Hospital on Marmion St in Cottesloe), Frederick Augustus (1932), Nell Maureen (1934), and Lynette Therese (1937). Nell sadly died when she was two years old.

In 1923, Frank held a novelty leap year dance in the Cottesloe Hall.

Frank was a builder and also a Claremont Councillor from 1936-39 and again from 1952-1953. He was a council member of the W.A. Builders' Guild, and a keen gardener who was interested in street beautification. He was a supporter of Claremont Football Club and a keen swimmer and motorist. In 1952 he advocated for traffic lights to be installed at the intersection of Bay View Terrace and Stirling Highway.

He lived at 151 Claremont Crescent and then 16 Dean Street. When he died, he had been living at 5 Overton Gardens, Cottesloe.
