c. 1935B/W prints. (a) Mrs Millie Bovell in dark frock with white collar or scarf. She has short, waved grey hair and dark eyes. (c) Millie Bovell in light patterned frock, dark belt and shoes standing on the lawn beside an umbrella tree in front of her brickand tiled home.(d) Millie Bovell in long-sleeved light frock with brooch at neck, sitting in a floral print arm chair with a newspaper on her knees and handbag beside her. (e) Millie Bovell sitting in an arm chair with a friend, Mrs Gibson, in striped frock and short jacket sitting on the arm.
Mrs Bovell started cooking sponges and later pies in home kitchen. Sold through sister's shop/lending library next to" Claremont Pub". Later rented a shop at 24 Bay View Tce with husband Percy, a motor trimmer who left his trade to become a pastrycook. Eventually bought the premisis and the one next door. 3 generations of Bovell family were piemakers (Percy, Percy's son John and John's son David. Until 1987, when closed due to increasing rents, was the oldest family business in Bay View Terrace.
