Historical information

This is the final menu offered by The Manse Restaurant before it closed in March 2020.
The Manse Restaurant was opened around May 1988 by Alex and Kerry Koers in the former Congregational Church Manse building. In the early 1990s Gary Smith, who had been working as an apprentice at the restaurant, purchased the restaurant and ran it until its closure in 2020 due to COVID 19 pandemic and ill health. For much of its existence The Manse was a very popular restaurant in the district. During the 1990s the restaurant received several Golden Plate nominations and in 19%% won the award for

Part of a collection of menus from the Manse Restaurant that show how tastes and costs change over time and what items became popular staples and did not change over time
Was one of the last menus produced by Garry Smith before the restaurant closed due to COVID-19 in 2020. When restrictions were lifted Garry chose not to reopen the restaurant.
A rare example of a series of menus showing the evolution of a local restaurants menu over a thirty year period. The Manse Restaurant was a popular place strongly supported by local dinners for much of its life from 1988 to 2020.
