Historical information

Built 1902. Before being named Hotel Claremont, the building was known as Fink's Hotel and McManus's Hotel. Original lesseee JW Jackson. Previously there was an inn on the site, which then became a store housing the post office. Built on the same plan as original limestone hotel built 1886 which later became Massey's Store & Bakery following objections to a licence in Claremont. In 1985 extensive renovations undertaken and the hotel renamed Cagney's on the Terrace. Further refurbishment in 1990's included a drive-in bottle shop (Cagney's Cellars), and a cocktail lounge (Top of the Terrace). Later known as the Continental, and latterly Redrock Hotel and Redrock Bottle Shop. Closed in 2020
