PHOTOGRAPH (DIGITAL): FAULLS PTY LTD, HAY STREET, SUBIACO
c. 1980Photograph of the showrooms and offices of Faulls Pty Ltd, corner Hay Street and Alvan Street, Subiaco taken from across Hay Street. The photo shows a building with large show windows on two sides, double glass entry doors on the corner. The reflection in the windows shows the used car yard and workshop opposite. The name 'FAULLS' appears in large letters high on the Hay Street facade with 'ROVER CARS' / 'LAND/ROVER' beneath. On the very left of the facade is a Rolls Royce sign. On the Alvan Street facade is 'WINTERBOTTAM' and some other words which are indecipherable. There is a sign for Spare Parts on the Alvan Street side under a cantilever verandah. Road and footpath is in the foreground.
Faulls Pty Ltd was started in the 1930s and distributed Land Rovers, Rover cars, Rolls Royce cars, Minis and Mini Mokes. They also had a used car yard with workshop opposite their main showroom in Hay Street, as well as a workshop for new vehicles in Tighe Street. They operated until the 1980s when they were asset stripped by the new owners.
