POSTCARD: ROKEBY ROAD, SUBIACO

Overview

Postcard with black and white picture of Rokeby Road. Picture taken from the corner of Rokeby R and & Bagot Rd. In the foreground is a two storey building. On the balcony of the second storey is advertising for 'Be and t & Burnside Cash Grocers(?) Branch No.2'. There is a and rse & cart in front of the building. There are people walking up the street and a tram is also visible on the street. In the bottom left corner, printed in red is 'Rokeby Road, Subiaco W.A.'.

On the back along the top is printed 'Post Card' with two graphics (one which says 'Stamp Here'). The back of the card is divided vertically by a line. At the top of the right section is 'This space for name and address'.

Message written in pencil reads: 'Dear (Lucy?) Just a (??) to you to / let you know there is a parcel / waiting for you at Fremantle / Post Office for which I enflose / (??) for you to get some. Let us / know if you get it alright / G Harris (??) House North Terrace / Adelaide South Australia'

Historical information

There is a pencil written message on the back of the postcard. The name of the intended recipient is unclear. The sender had the surname of Harris. The message concerns a parcel being sent by Harris which should be waiting for the recipient to pick up at Fremantle Post Office. The postcard was sent from Adelaide, South Australia.
