Overview

Image: Bark painting in black, grey and dark brown colours. The picture has two grass trees in the foreground, with another 10 trees in the background.

Frame: Light coloured wood and has two lines of gold trim and a shallow groove into the wood. The painting is covered by a clear plastic sheet.

Reverse: The backing of the painting is made from ply wood. There is brown sticky tape along the join of the frame and the backing. A hanging cord is stapled to the frame. In the middle of the plywood backing is '0/N 1662'

Historical information

This painting is one of two bought from an Indigenous female artist who lived in Bagot Road in 1980 (see also 1996.33) The paintings were originally a gift to Mrs. Byatt, but she insisted on paying something for them. The price was $15 each.
