1939.Letter, handwritten on a single sheet of paper.
The letter is dated to 14 June 1939 and is from C or G Edmunds (the writing is unclear) to George in Northam. The subject of the letter regards settling the account for building labour, which cost more than expected due to the costs of cement,
and wants to know if any of the workers bought and food off George (which
would be deducted from the total cost).
The page is in average condition, has been torn, yellowed and faded. There is
also evidence of minor water damage.
It is unknown how this letter came to be located in the Museum Workshops however it is assumed it was donated.

The value of the item considered for accession lies in its research value as a dated document relating to daily life Toodyay in the early 20th century. This document gives a small view into the transactions of labour and building, and as such may have value to future researchers on the subject of labour studies.
