Maley's Mill Docket Book
1861Docket book printed for the Greenough Flat's Steam Mill, containing dockets numbered 1 to 264.
John Stephen Maley came to Greenough in November 1860 to oversee the construction and management of a steam flour mill built on land owned by George Shenton Snr. The Victoria Steam Mill was financed by Shenton and Cook and was working by April 1861. At that time there was only one other commercial flour mill operating in the Victoria District.

Each docket contains the signature of the carter, amount of grain ( and occasionally empty bags) delivered, the name of the grower and to whom the grain is to be credited to.
This is the first of 50 docket books from Maley's Mill housed in the Maley Mill & Store Archives. It contains 264 dockets dating from 1st April 1861 to 24th February 1862.
