Historical information

After experiencing the gruelling selection process to become the 2005 school prefects, and most of us doing exams, we were rewarded with some rest and relaxation, or so we thought. A three day break at Logue Brook Adventure Camp sounded like just what the doctor ordered. 5o on December 1st 2004 we all congregated on the school oval to begin our expedition, but not before being entertained by the ladies' attempts to start a new dance movement.

When Miss Jones, Mr Chatman and our computer whiz, Miss Green, finally got themselves organised, we took off, listening to what I think we all agreed was the best CD ever compiled, thanks Nikki. After some out of the ordinary games, horribly funny singing, playing mind games with road workers and way too much consumption of confectionary we arrived at the camp. Time to lie down? I don't think so!

We discovered we were actually there to plan what we were going to be up to in 2005. Over the following three days we did various interesting workshops designed cleverly to allow us to come out of our shells, interact and create a fusion of really brilliant and innovative ideas. Despite the fact certain people, and you know who you are, had more breaks than a bull In a china shop, we came up with a set of plans worthy of note including the prefects joining different year groups' form classes, an amusing environmental cleanup scheme including talk of a "James Krachler" tree of wisdom, traffic improvements and many more projects we were eager to begin right away.

Despite people's sore bones, behinds and brains; the camp was fantastically orchestrated by the conductors Miss Jones, Mr Chatman and Miss Green, which proves that you can work and have a whole heap of fun at the same time! Absurd, I know! 5o in the words of a wise man, and in the case of the 2005 prefect group:

"Tomorrow is promised to no one; so play hard today".
