LACE, MACHINE, CUFF
Fine example of a black lace cuff, produced on a Leavers Machine and imitating the characteristics of bobbin made Chantilly lace. Formed from two pieces of lace, a narrow cuff band (15mm deep) with stylised scrolling flowers and circles in gimp thread. The flounce of the cuff is made from a long length of lace with 10 pleats (30mm deep) stitched to the cuff band. Flounce design gimp outline sprays of leaves and scrolls, transitioning to a geometric design with woven spiders.
