Overview

A sepia coloured photo of Dr. Alfred Green and his second wife Maria Louisa Green (nee Turner).
He has a beard, is dressed formally and is sitting on a wooden chair. His wife Maria is standing to his right with her left hand upon his shoulder.
She is clothed in a floor length skirt and a long sleeved, below hip length top that buttons down the front. A lace trim is around her neck. A small lace cap is upon her head.
Slight damage to edges of photo.

Historical information

Dr. Green (1805-1895) was the Resident Medical Officer at the Toodyay Convict Hiring Depot in 1856. He married his second wife Maria Turner (1821-1913), after the death of his first wife in 1867. Maria was the sister of his first wife, Ann McDermott, nee Turner.
Dr Green died in Northam.
